Biofuels Pros and Cons

Biofuels are fuels made from plant cellulose, and they differ from non-renewable, fossil fuels like gasoline.

Producing biofuel is carbon-neutral or carbon-negative, making it a cleaner option for generating energy. The downside is that they contain impurities.


Biofuels cost less than fossil fuels. Land required to grow crops is typically on less arable land compared to fossil fuels. However, the technological advancement is slow.


Biofuels makes use of food waste and increase efficiency of resources. However, their quality and quantity depend completely on agricultural conditions.
